Sightseeing through Gran Canary

Dear Blog reader,

from today onwards and weekly every Friday, we will publish for you a special sightseeing highlight on Gran Canary and Fuerteventura.

Today we will start with the amazing CASA DEL COLON (= Columbu's House), situated in the historical old part of Las Palmas de Gran Canary, called Vegueta, showing history and art of the last five centuries on the Canary Islands and America. It's current configuration consist of several houses, one of which is the ancient house of the Governor, who has been visited by Columbus during his first trip towards America in 1492. The museum lodges different exhibitions, like “America before the discovery”, “Columbus and his trips”, “History of the city of Las Palmas”, etc. a library and a specializing center of studies.

A visit is always worth for adults or children, and the entrance is free.
The opening hours are from Monday until Friday from 09.00 until 19.00 hours and on Saturdays and Sundays from 09.00 until 15.00 hours. Closed on festive days and on May 22, December 24 and 31.
